Syndicate of Advertising Agencies Conditions of Membership
Any Advertising Agency has the right to apply for membership of the Syndicate provided if the following conditions are met:
The owner of the Agency must hold the Lebanese nationality for over 10 years with full civil rights and not being subject to a criminal sentence.
The owner must be over 18 years old.
The owner must submit a copy of the company’s registration issued by the Commercial Courts.
The Agency’s Head Office must be in Lebanon.
The object of the Agency must be solely to carry out advertising business.
The Agency must have an office (owned or rented) dedicated to the conduct of the business of advertising.
The Agency must have the following departments necessary to the conduct of its business in a professional manner:
Creative and productive department (press radio & television)
Client services department
Research and advertising programming
Accounting department
The Agency should not be a “front” to an advertising company headquartered outside Lebanon unless the regulations of the country of residence of the mother company treat Lebanese Companies on an equal footing.
The Agency, its owner/s or his representative, its directors and managers may not own, participate or own shares in any advertising entity, which owns or publishes a periodical or any other advertising medium.
The Agency may not be a front for an advertising or media company or to any House Agencies.
The following applies to the manager of an incorporated Advertising entity or Advertising company limited by parts and to the Chairman / General Manager’s of limited liability companies: he must have at least 5 years’ experience in the field of advertising, promotion or public relations or hold a relevant university degree from approved universities in the field of advertising, public relations and marketing or advertising promotion in addition of 2 years working experience in advertising.
